It was stated by the DTB on Monday that the three investors are well aware that they won’t see a return on their investment. Finding one multi-millionaire in Wimbledon willing to throw £2.5m down the drain seems implausible, but to find three?
I wouldn’t be surprised if any conversation with investors went along the lines of…

What I cannot understand (and I find it hard to believe that the DTB do not see this as a crucial question to be answered) is that we have been offered £7.5m by three so called ‘investors’ – they have no current or previous connection with the club and they are not willing to reveal their identity. How do they think they are going to make a…[Read more]

Thanks Windlesham and Colum for excellent wraps of the DT SGM. This is a major dilemma for our club. The DT (Mark Davis) is clearly pushing for the outside investment option with a bulk of the fans calling for exhaustion of all funding possibilities. Read today that around 300 Dons Bond survey respondents have so far pledged an average of £3,200…[Read more]

Another excellent Colum, thank you. Your conclusion is spot on.

Excellent summary of the SGM Windlesham. I went to the meeting last night in gloomy mood, and left more depressed than when I went. My takeout is that the club is seemingly irreparably split down the middle on external investment vs fan ownership. The situation is as fundamentally divisive as Brexit. Such is the deeply entrenched passion and…[Read more]

There were three questions at the back of my mind as I attended last nights Dons Trust SGM:
• Just how had things escalated so quickly to the current situation?
• Why is there such a disconnect between the fans and the Dons Trust Board?
• What type of club do we want to be going forward? The overwhelming feeling of those in the room last night…[Read more]

So, the overall impression from last night is that we are right royally f*cked!
How we have arrived at this desperate situation I do not know, but at the moment if we do not accept outside investment then the numbers do not add up for the new stadium – we are around £11m short. The ‘bare bones’ stadium option was pretty well taken off the table…[Read more] -

On the face of it, a point away from home is a good result, especially when you look at our away form. But the manner by which we conceded both Bolton’s equalisers is a body blow that is tough to take. Thankfully there was no real damage done, as other teams failed to capitalise.
Now we can forget about on the field matters as Monday’s SGM puts…[Read more]

So life is as depressing on the field as it is off it. Throwing away another two points through terrible defending again. And against the woeful bottom of the table team. As I wrote in the latest newsletter, this current squad lacks the fight and spirit to see games out. It’s so depressing. Gutless and incompetent. Supporting Wimbledon these d…[Read more]

Having spent some time in commercial financing, I believe our problem has nothing to do with the Business Plan but everything to do with the failure by the FA to ensure Due Diligence of its member’s finances. Vis-a-Vis… With several major collapses already witnessed, and more than a few other clubs close to collapse and/or struggling to…[Read more]

Very disappointed, but in a funny way, not surprised by the latest development. O always thought the financing of the new stadium would be problematic. The crowd funding, to which several of us in Australia contributed, was never going to raise enough money. It was designed, I think, to reduce the level of debt we would have by taking out the…[Read more]

The Plough Lane Stadium project has been plunged into crisis with the Dons Trust announcing problems with the final funding of the ground. The DT have released an email to members (and sighted by me) detailing issues with the bank funding for the final 11 million pounds.

After not seeing the Dons since Peterborough away in September, I’ve just done two rather unlikely away jaunts. Firstly Saturday at Blackpool was just imminently forgettable. Only one shot on goal and we never looked like getting anything out of the game. The big fella up front for ‘Pool Gnanduillet, just monstered our defence. Mikey T posted…[Read more]

The romance of the Cup. Now the boys can concentrate on the league (as they say). And there is an ex-Spurs manager on the look, if we are bold enough. Regardless, we seem to be roughly where we were at the same point last season. If we keep up these Groundhog seasons, then we might just make New Plough Lane in one piece. Work workmen work!

Wimbledon are still in the FA Cup after a 1-1 draw at home to Doncaster Rovers. It was a creditable performance given the Dons were without Marcus Forss (cup-tied) and a lengthy injured brigade including Anthony Wordsworth, Ryan Delaney, Max Sanders, Michael Folivi and Will Nightingale forcing Glyn Hodges to call up teenagers Jack Madelin, Zach…[Read more]

I travel to Kingsmeadow today in hope more than expectation. We have a crippling injury list and the removal of Forss up front leaves us toothless. It will be interesting to see the formation (not sure we have enough centre backs available to play 3-5-2 unless Jack Madelin is thrown in at the deep end…)
Doncaster are one of the better teams in…[Read more] -

Please don’t “beg” to differ Singapore 🙂
Having looked at the highlights I’m willing to accept I was being harsh on Kwesi. From where I stood it certainly looked like he hadn’t headed it cleanly, but I accept he did. It is just a shame his ability to gel with the fans is lacking.
His celebration was a rather OTT though, and just the sort of…[Read more]
