Would have to be up there for signing of the year with Taylor.
Actually, NA’s permanent signing record is pretty good. Look at Azeez who everyone at WUP poked fun at last year, he is now a valuable member of the squad. I guess it should be one of his strengths given his youth background but where every penny counts it is a huge asset.

Let’s assume we keep the squad pretty much the same size and that we upgrade a few of the players’ deals.
Who would we be looking at?I’d be saying an additional CB, an additional RB, three midfielders (replacing Rigg, Bulman and Beere) and a striker (replacing BMO).
We’d probably also want to upgrade a few of the existing contracts albeit with relegation clauses.

I’d almost leave the decision to Bulman to make for himself. The remainder work for me if we go up or simply remain in League 2. The dilemna I see is that in our current run of form, I can’t see NA risking upsetting the flow by giving chances to the very individuals we need to in order to invest in our future… e.g. Kaja et al. Somehow we need to find out if they are the solution to League 1, or even sound replacements for those we might expect to leave if we remain in League 2. As for Meades, yup Mr Versatile, but I’m so glad I put my money on Taylor…

We should have enough to beat an improving Yeovil, but as NA rightly pointed out there is very little between most of the teams in League 2 and we will need to be on our game to take the 3 points.
A concern for me is the news that we have a few knocks, as well as Bully and Francomb injured – we cannot afford to lose any more key players and still keep up the recent level of performance.
Of course, three points in this division are determined by many factors, not least the standard of refereeing and Lady Luck. If we can get off to a fast start and get ahead early, then our confidence and momentum may carry us to a comfortable victory. However, a slow start may lead to the normal home tension amongst the fans which could transmit to the players.
My prediction, without any confidence is a hard fought victory.
COYD!

In the past we have blown such opportunities but this time we seem to be a much stronger unit. My friend’s theory for our turnaround is the game at Newport. At 2-0 down at half-time, he thinks some senior players initiated a frank exchange of views with Ardley. Since then, team spirit has improved dramatically and we now have that momentum behind us that winning brings. Let us hope that continues tonight.

On today’s form, the play-offs can be filed once again under Fantasy and Fiction. Yeovil had done their homework and perhaps as a result of that we seemed to lose the plot (and lose composure)… although I have to say that the referee was once again an incompetent clown I wouldn’t trust to take charge of a game of Subbuteo. -
