ParticipantUnfortunately we’re feeling the affects of the Sutton United replay now. Such a massive loss that night.
Hope Neal has a plan but when the OS starts mentioning we’re looking at players as trialists as replacements for Reeves it really doesn’t inspire confidence. Any player worth something will be contracted which just leaves youngsters. Disappointed as we should have a few bob now Jake, Dom and the young keeper have been soldJuly 6, 2017 at 8:39 pm #13467Windlesham Don
ParticipantAnother day and another departure. However, not many tears will be shed for the ‘wage drain’ that was Tyrone Barnett!
C’mon Neal, use the freed up wages to add a class playmaker, even if it is on a season long loan…

ParticipantGood news at last in the transfer market, even if it is a departing player. Now if only we could have one newbie to get us excited. Is that asking too much?

ParticipantHopefully thats the last of the players leaving and with a bit of money in the bank we may get somebody in. What do you think money on a midfielder or on a striker.

ParticipantSmall South London Club seeks Legend.
Must possess a head as high as Tom Elliot’s, have the dedication of James Shea, the Play-making skills of Jake Reeves, the assuredness of Danny Kedwell, and the presence of Vinnie Jones.
Salary not negotiable but comes with free Bacon Butties, shares in Jelly Babies, 1/11th share in club car (Austin A40), 4,500 adoring fans, and one (slightly rusty) FA Cup. Must have own Boots.
Apply to Chelsea Ladies, and ask for Haydon.July 8, 2017 at 5:45 pm #13471Singapore Don
ParticipantA confidence boosting Meet the Manager session. Neal was refreshingly honest, articulate, intelligent, passionate – for my money, we’re lucky to have such an inspiring and down to earth manager. Rather than write a full report of the session, here are the notes I made on my iPhone in real time:
Goalkeepers – top 3 choices were loanees
Shea and Roos didn’t make (enough) match winning savesNew pitch – diff style of play, no new Elliott type target man
Maybe wouldn’t have sold Bulman if knew Reeves was going. But expensive and wouldn’t play all games
Transfer money – confident I can put good team on the pitch with money I have
More goal in Appiah and Cody than Elliott and Poleon
Appiah is better footballer than Elliott. He’s a Championship playerDons attracts players not doing well and we turn them in to better players – Reeves, Elliott, Taylor
Parrett doesn’t track back enough, doesn’t defend very well. Francomb has better stats
Egan and Sibbick only two youth players ready for first team
Hartigan really impressed. Not physically ready, but great footballing brainWants 1 forward. 2 Cent midfielders. 1 left back
1 cent mid to be recruited will be first in team sheet player
The big announcement: Kennedy new LB. He is great for team spiritYouth players not always ready. Kalambayi monster in youth games, knocked around in first team
Got signings wrong last year.
Appiah signing: we should be dancing in our living rooms. Best player AFCW ever signed.
Oshilaja is a Championship player. Lyle Taylor complains can’t get past him
George Long: 5 clubs wanted him. Club psychologist said we have to sign him
Appiah and Deji are Championship players and great characters
Still establishing ourselves as League One team. Hopefully top half.
Gillingham tip to struggle
Players struggled last six weeks of the season. Team spirit and fitness not so good. Gutted not to finish above scum.
I deal with 22 egos every day. Poleon was more selfish.
Aiming to be very athletic team
Team spirit, work harder, organisation – we need to be better than bigger budget clubs on all these
Whelpdale – still niggling injuries. Won’t fit in 4-3-3. Wingers not so important next season.
Team spirit: got recruitment wrong last season. Existing players no respect for new players last season. Now new players commanding respect.
Wheel of fortune to bond team. Fines. Swearing etc not allowed. Good fun.
Managerial ambition.,can run Dins as he wants. Yes wants to work at higher level. But not in a rush. Wants to take club in to premiership.
We lost 12 points to bad game changing ref decisions. Sutton was appalling.
Prediction: finish top ten
