The other issue concerning me from last week was a tweet from ex-player Andy Frampton, suggesting that Downes was a terrible man manager and not a good long term appointment.
Now if this was posted by a young hot head, or by someone with a grudge against the club then it could be dismissed. But Frampton was always level headed and a model pro…[Read more]

What a to do. I share the consensus view here about who and what, but I offer a conundrum…
What if WD is taking the gamble of sacrificing what was surely a winnable game in order to maintain the fitness of his key player/s for the fight against relegation? What if WD’s contract has a clause in it that has L1 survival as the carrot for a longer…[Read more] -

You express and articulate our shared viewpoint extremely clearly Windlesham! I’ve needed a lot of persuading that WD is the right man for the job, and I’ll need even more after the Millwall defeat. As you say, yesterday was a black mark in WD’s copy book, with painfully costly mistakes. I just hope WD doesn’t banish Wagstaff completely as his won…[Read more]

PS – The other issue I find staggering is that the club have agreed to play the re-arranged match at Rochdale on Tuesday evening. We have played Saturday/ Tuesday/Saturday ahead of this fixture, whereas Rochdale have had 10 days to rest and prepare for us.
For the club to hand Rochdale such a massive advantage ahead of a match vital to our…[Read more]

Singapore, I was thinking of writing something almost identical to your post! Incredibly frustrated at yesterday’s performance and I am placing the blame squarely at the feet of our new manager. It seems that we now have our own “tinkerman” in control, someone who has to change things around virtually every match, regardless of whether things…[Read more]

PS Hope to have a beer with you in Adelaide Liam! I arrive late Feb 25 and leave late March 7. Will be in Verdun and Hardwicke Bay over the ten days we’re there, but will no doubt be in Adelaide itself at some point during our stay. Are you in the city itself??

What a completely wasted opportunity. And to my mind, this was a manager’s defeat. Poor team selection, poor tactics, poor motivation. Why start Garratt who hasn’t played for ages, when McDonald has filled in so ably as left back? And why oh why not start the one player really fired up for this match, who fired the whole team with his dynamic…[Read more]

Talking to some Millwall fans after the game, they think we were the better team. Personally I’m fed up with hearing that this season. We’re defensively OKish. In midfield we’re OKish on our day, but it depends who plasy there. Up front we’re severely lacking at best.
Yes it could have been different if Piggott had scored in the first minute…[Read more]

So the potential £1m match arrives with little buzz of anticipation. The vital 3 points at Walsall on Tuesday helped to ease the pain of another gruesome display on Saturday, but the fact that barely 150 made it up from south London shows how much of an impact Saturday’s horror show had.
Playing the ‘Wall will have much less glamour than West…[Read more]

Hey Pete, I live in Adelaide so yes we must meet up. What dates will you be here.
As for the Dons, they seem like Dr Jekell and Mr Hyde. Just seen the highlights of the win at Walsall. The team looked impressive and apparently should have won by a bigger margin.
But my brother was at the Burton game and his one word summation was…[Read more]

Singapore. I think any fellow Adelaide wombles may need a few beers to dull the pain of any “tales from KM” this season. Enjoy yourselves.

Any WDSA Wombles in Adelaide? I’m heading downunder in a couple of weeks to chill for ten days in the Adelaide Hills and Harwicke Bay. Going with wifey for silver wedding anniversary, but I’m sure I’d be given a pink slip for a couple of beers. Mind you, you may not want to hear the first hand the plentiful stories of Wombles’ woe in Wimbledon….

I can only echo all the gloomy comments of my fellow long suffering Dons fans here – Saturday was truly dreadful and yet another nadir in what seems like a long list of low points over the past couple of years. It was a shocking performance, shocking in how bad it was and shocking in being such a surprise after the inspired performances against…[Read more]

The second 45 minutes on Saturday was possibly the worst I have witnessed since 2002 – no heart, no desire and no ability. We were an utter shambles.
Terrell Thomas was rightly awarded the MotM, but the sad fact is that he stood out solely because he could control the ball and pass it to another player in blue. That was enough to comfortably…[Read more]

Let’s face it. With the money we’ve made from the cup run, most of the players know they’ll be gone at the end of the season. Thus, there’s no point risking an injury when there’s a cup payout waiting at the end of the week to tide them over while they hunt for some other gullible club during the summer. I’m certain this is why the standard of…[Read more]

Only 4003 there on Saturday including 220 odd from Burton. And there were plenty around me saying this could be the last time they come this season. Whether you say they are fair weather fans or not, attendances aren’t looking too good.
The worst thing of all is that you can’t blame them. Going down with some fight is OK, but on Saturday there…[Read more]

Think we’re cooked. The latest loss – the 10th at home this season – leaves the Dons stranded nine points from the second-bottom team and 10 from the relegation zone. Wimbledon have lost five of their last six (the other drawn) as teams around them eke out points. It was the manner of the…[Read more]

Yikes! Time to consult the Google maps for all of these lovely League 2 locations for next year. Places like Milton Keynes. No point even thinking otherwise. If the latest wally in charge of the club is to have a hope of rescuing next season, then now is the time to start giving up on this season. Mind you, will our Wally be there next season. How…[Read more]

What is the next watering hole after the last chance saloon, cos that’s where we’ve probably moved on to now!
Three points and a convincing display are an absolute ‘must’ this afternoon if we are to cling on to the thread of survival.
We need to be out of the blocks quickly and be in the faces of a side with little to play for. The players need…[Read more]
