#ScunthorpeUnited are weighing up a January move for #Wimbledon captain Will Nightingale. Iron boss Neil Cox worked with Nightingale while assistant manager at the Dons and it's understood he would like to sign him if finances allow this January. https://t.co/X9hXfU1zEo

It feels like it’s crunch time for the season.
The Covid outbreak has been intensifying throughout England, particularly in London and the south.
Wimbledon approached the EFL to have their home match with League One leaders Lincoln City postponed with at least seven squad members returning positive tests.
The EFL turned down the request and the…[Read more] -

Further on from Windlesham’s critique, this from the Oxford defeat, two early conceded goals, 2-0 loss. Poor defensive awareness on display…
BANG THERE IT IS YOU BEAUTY! How many attempts…Wimbledon didn’t fancy oppo analysis? #oufc https://t.co/VnhA8cth8f pic.twitter.com/qzNH5ABvpS

What a difference the quality of Oksanen makes. Much better second half. A bit unlucky not to score.

Terrible first half display and an injury to Hennegan isn’t helping. The team seems very disjointed with no Piggot .

In a season of defensive cock-ups I am desperately hoping that Crewe’s winning goal last Saturday was the nadir.
Looking at it again it was a disaster movie, a ‘Towering Inferno’ of defensive ineptitude from our centre backs!
Having switched from 3 centre backs to 2 and having withdrawn Terell Thomas (who appears to be carrying a persistent…[Read more]

On Christmas Eve the new Dons Trust Board unanimously voted in Jane Lonsdale and Xavier Wiggins as Co-Chairs with Charlie Talbot filling the Vice Chair position.
“It’s an honour to accept the position of Co-Chair – I believe Xavier and I will be able to work to our mutual strengths to the benefit of the DTB over what should be a busy but excit…[Read more]

Glyn Hodges has moved to shore up his squad’s defensive options with the acquisition of experienced free agent central defender Ben Heneghan. The 27-year-old is a huge presence at 6ft 3in and spent the last two seasons on loan from Sheffield United with Blackpool, making 80 appearances and scoring four times. Heneghan joined Sheffield United in A…[Read more]

In the wider context of our club’s history, the score line of yesterday’s 2-2 draw against Doncaster doesn’t matter. But the fact that the game took place at all was massive. Back in January (just nine short months ago) I sat at the Dons Trust EGM and wondered if we’d even get another home game. Once again funding was the issue, yet somehow we…[Read more]

The return to Plough Lane is getting closer… this will put you in the mood… ‘General’ Lee Willett tells us what it means for Dons fans… stirring stuff (as you would expect)
The General at the barricades once again ….
"#PloughLane is in the blood for #Wimbledon fans. This is where we grew originally and even though we haven't been here for 29 years, it's remained a beacon – the shining light for all of us."@leewillett88 https://t.co/oGjzkCRvAw— wombles downunder (@WDownunder) October 27, 2020

After another promising but unrewarded effort on Tuesday, the boys face three games in the next week against the teams currently occupying the bottom 3 places in the fledgling league table. This is a double-edged sword – we are playing teams who have not started well and so we should be confident of picking up points, however, if we fail against…[Read more]

The Dons created some good chances away against the high-flying Tigers, annoying that all of it was sunk by conceding off another set-piece deep in first half stoppage-time, it's costing us dearly… https://t.co/XPBlWT2KUG

And yet again the #afcwimbledon defence switches off at a set piece and in the SEVENTH minute of added time in the first half, all the hard work undone by a defensive lapse and it proves the winner for #HullCity https://t.co/9teqzDzwgc

Glyn -"It leaves a horrible taste because in the last two games we've been beaten and our keeper has barely had a shot to save and we've conceded two goals from set pieces. We've had a conversation, hopefully we've got a solution to how we are going to defend."
Let's hope so …

A hugely frustrating game on Saturday. The manner of defeat certainly ruined my Saturday evening. Sadly, veteran Wimbledon watchers would have found the last few minutes all too predictable – failure to capitalise on the few chances we created, followed by a defensive loss of concentration at the death.
Shrewsbury were woeful, robust in defence…[Read more]

Since the start of last season, Wimbledon have conceded more goals from in-direct free-kick and corner situations than any other League One side (19), with only Rochdale (17) conceding more from crosses (15).
It's a problem.#afcw #afcwimbledon

Seeing the words “Club Statement” on the OS is enough to send most fans fearing the worst. To find out it was a player who’d been charged with a sexual offence two years ago was bad enough, but the fact that the club only found out about it two days ago raises many questions.
Paul Kamalbayi has been acquitted of the offence, but serious…[Read more]
