Fascinating… Neil Cox reporting that “the players” have been ringing in to voice their opinion on Saturday’s disaster.
Apparently there’s a great spirit between manager and players though…. clearly this is (not) the case methinks? -

What struck me about NA’s post Bradford interview was his revelation that he had asked the team how they might deal with his assessment of how Bradford might play. Sometimes being a manager requires a two-way street. Perhaps NA has matured enough now to realise that?
Certainly the team appear to be on the up, and the performance, with only 45%…[Read more] -

With two games lost in the last three due to dubious refereeing decisions, I have come to the conclusion that it’s a shame we don’t play in the USA, for by now there would have been an investigation into the ‘standards’ (and I use the term advisedly) we are being subjected to. In other nations there would have been cries of bribery and…[Read more]

Did I miss something????
Today’s official website headline is an article on the upcoming game.
It details quotes from the two club managers…
Quotes from the Dons Manager are credited to…
‘Neil Cox’….Hmmmm……

What my more learned (and perhaps less emotionally charged) colleagues on here have pointed out, is precisely my frustration with NA.
We most definitely do have better option than our present lumbering back-peddling midfielders but those options remain firmly planted on the bench. Meanwhile, our forwards having appeared to have (finally) found…[Read more] -

OK… So one of our best hopes for a revival goes out on loan because “he needs more first team action”….
Unless someone can give me a lucid logical cast iron reason for this apparently insane decision at a time when the club is so utterly desperate for an injection of their pace, desire, and ability in our league matches, I have to declare that…[Read more] -

So…. we won! Wow! Now’s there’s a concept to grapple with. Reading the management report though you’d have to say it was not one filled with ‘that’s the way it should be against L2 opposition’ but one more along the lines of ‘Phew! We live another day’.
Who knows though? Was today a “Pride in the Shirt” moment when suddenly we discover that the…[Read more] -

So… I come home to find we’ve won 3-1 and in convincing style…. As much as I want to believe the team formation and strategy was all NA, I beg to believe he’s been reading the recommendations of others. e.g. LTB FINALLY gets to play in his best role…
Let’s see what he’s learned on Saturday, which, on this form, really should be another three points. -

It’s not even sixty minutes into the game and I’m predicting that Ardley, for all his great moments, will be gone in less than a month… if not by the time you read this.
An utterly, utterly, hopeless, abject, clueless, dysfunctional, disjointed, abysmal performance. Comfortably the worst I’ve ever seen in 45 years of supporting our club.
From…[Read more] -

Ummm…. Let me see if I’ve got this right….
We field NA’s ‘First Eleven’ against average Rochdale and achieve a draw (having missed the Barndoor a dozen times…)…. then our kids go out and beat a PREMIERSHIP team and score FOUR goals in the process…. (OK so three then with one for ever improving Parrett.)I am at a loss for words…

Well, we played a mediocre team and utterly failed to make an impression, despite being in control for virtually all of the second half.
At first though, it was the Ref who made an impression… by giving Rochdale a wholly undeserved free kick right on the edge of the box. I thought, oh here we go again, but no, even though he made another…[Read more]

(Caution: Armchair viewing!)
Well, I guess I should start by commenting on the Ref… For most of the first half he appeared to think he was in control of a non-contact sport. If we’d attacked the Southend players with a feather duster, they’d still have got the free kick. Such was the Refs support for Southend that he even helped break down a…[Read more] -

Well, that was a shock, but a delightful one at that.
Firstly, I have to comment on ifollow. You know that expression “Game of two halves”? Well, that sums up ifollow’s efforts. There was clearly a technical fault at Ewood for not only was coverage jittery during the first 45 minutes, but large parts of the game simply didn’t get transmitted. Some…[Read more] -

For the first fifteen minutes I thought we were going to destroy the Gills by several goals, such was the sense of urgency about the squad; one no doubt stung by criticism of their habitual arrival to the game ten minutes after kick-off.
Naturally it couldn’t last, and after the Gills got back into the game, we resorted to type…. vis-a-vis…[Read more] -

So, I finally get ifollow to work…They have not only sorted out the “am I logged in, am I not?” problem, but also appear to have fixed their jittery streaming. Yet for all this, what I watched for 90 minutes left me wishing the ref had blown for full time after 70 minutes… if for no other reason than to ensure it would prevent him from…[Read more]

Sigh, barely into the second month and already our first encounter with a numbnut ref.
What’s the bung rate for a made up sending off these days? -

‘i(dont)follow’ Episode Two…
After establishing that the ‘ifollow’ site could not even recognise that I was already logged in, I launch another tirade of an email, which, finally elicits a response this morning, but a generic one at that.
Unfortunately for them it is quite clear from the email that they have a major problem on their hands. I…[Read more] -

Well… There I was with my ‘ifollow’ match pass and a promise of watching the replay when I got home from work today. I had even bookmarked the ‘live’ page in the hope of avoiding the landing page with result blazoned across it.
No such luck. I open the bookmarked page and all I get is their stupid advertising video with it’s sweeping claims……[Read more] -

I’ve tried ifollow for a couple of games with much the same (poor) results.
FYI: I’ve spent a lot of my working life in I.T. and in particular building and diagnosing network problems. Thankfully I still have access to most of the tools I used. ifollow’s problem, assuming you have a highly stable and fast internet connection, are largely of it’s…[Read more] -

Having watched my first match via ‘ifollow’, I offer this perspective.
IFOLLOW: It took several frustrating minutes to get the live link to fire up. Finally I resorted to their on-line ‘chat’ tool, which, I have to say, was prompt and accurate with the advice. Annoyingly, the advice was to wipe out just about everything from my google chrome…[Read more]
