KeymasterGiven the likelihood of fans not getting the opportunity to farewell Kingsmeadow before the much-anticipated move to Plough Lane, the club has produced a fine tribute to the Meadow of Kings and its memories… take the time to savour this video.
Fitting farewell to Kingsmeadow, no opportunity for the fans to say a proper goodbye given the current situation. The ground served its purpose in the growth and evolution of the fans club. Well done to all involved in the video production.https://t.co/X25zkZNtJe

ParticipantLeague One decision day was supposed to be today, but just read on BBC that it has been put off until tomorrow. So we will know the outcome on Wednesday morning Oz time.
Everything pointing to points per game with play offs going ahead. So the Done should be safe from relegation.June 10, 2020 at 3:51 pm #14694onyadon
KeymasterIn the end the vote was clear: 18 clubs to end the season, four clubs to play on and one club could not get its virtual vote through. So Wimbledon will be staying up for another season in League One when the next campaign gets underway (who knows when as yet!) and probably at Plough Lane. The EFL ended weeks of dithering to decide that Coventry City and Rotherham United will be automatically promoted, Wycombe Wanderers, Oxford United, Portsmouth and Fleetwood Town will play off for the remaining promotion spot, while Tranmere Rovers will join Southend United and Bolton Wanderers in L2 next season. Of course, deciding by unweighted PPG is neither fair nor satisfactory, but a way to end the season had to be found given the massive upheaval caused by the pandemic. Wimbledon once again survived the drop by the barest of margins, this time they were three points ahead of Tranmere, who had a game in hand. Given the uncertainty over when crowds will be allowed back into grounds there will be problems ahead for clubs in the lower tiers, especially those already on the financial tightrope with no matchday income to call on. With the much awaited decision now made plans are underway to produce the final issue of Wombles Downunder for the season. As always welcome your thoughts on the EFL/clubs decision to curtail the season and what lies ahead.

KeymasterWimbledon released 11 players the day after learning the season had been officially curtailed, among them some high earners and home produced youngsters..
Wimbledon’s released player list
Sobering reality dawning with the release of so many players, among them high earners/our own youngsters leaving a massive task ahead for Glyn/staff to shore up a competitive squad for next season (whenever and what form that takes). Plough Lane return the shining beacon.

Very sad to see Reuben Collins among those leaving. He's been with the Academy from a young age. He's a real competitor on the pitch. Remember him going to win headers and shouting "Reuben!" everytime. He would always stop to talk with me and Slav at training. Good luck π #AFCW

Tough day. A lot of good people moving on. Scott Wagstaff did a great job taking on the captain's arm band at a tricky time. worked so well with Luke O'Neill. Professional, great personality and that night against West Ham is a special memory we will all cherish at #AFCW β½

KeymasterThese are fraught times in football as this piece with Glyn Hodges quoted shows….

ParticipantOn Friday the club published details of a debenture scheme for the allocation of seats at Plough Lane. Whilst sure to annoy some who may see it as the club cashing in on their wealthier fans to the disadvantage of those who are in financial difficulty, the scheme has been broadly welcomed.
It is designed to provide enough funds up front to enable the club to put together a minimum competitive budget for next season. The prospects of starting the season behind closed doors is a grim one for most clubs, with little or no income, but the need to sign players and incur match day expenses.
Details of the scheme are available on the club’s OS. The club are hoping to generate Β£1m from the scheme to cover the possibility of at least half of next season being played behind closed doors.
Interestingly, if the scheme proves popular then we could find ourselves in the situation of being able to compete for a few key signings for our first season at the new ground.
A note to Liam and Dave K – if you haven’t looked at the details of the scheme please do. For Β£500-600 you could secure a the rights to a decent seat for 11 years, even if you have to hand the use of it back to the club until your property is ready.
