Like many others, I was feeling rather pessimistic about a month ago about how the Dons would perform in the coming season.
However the combination of seven new signings and some decent pre-season results has been most encouraging.
So far I have only been to one game – the first friendly v Reading. It was a very entertaining game, which is unusual for a PSF and Wimbledon ran out deserved 4-2 winners thanks to good contributions from the youngsters in the second half. Thought Barcham had a good game.
Just read reports of the Brighton game today and that sounded very positive as well.
A lot will depend on how well the new players gel in the first month of the season, but I am quietly optimistic that we will finish higher up the table this year. Would be more than happy with a mid table finish while watching the progress of New Plough Lane.
Liam,
I just noticed the picture attachment to your last post. Is that you at the Fleetwood home game last season? ;o)
After losing Dean Parrett, I’m delighted to be sponsoring the home and away socks for our new lively left winger, Mitch Pinnock. Having seen Mitch put in an outstanding performance against Brighton, with some of the best crossing I’ve seen in a long time, I’m excited to see this young lad in action hopefully week in, week out this season. I tip him to top the club’s most assists leaderboard come next May! Hopefully he’ll chip in with some goals too 😀
Sadly Pete, I have selected Mitch as my Star Player in the Ivors, so he is doomed to a season of injury, ill-discipline and occasional bench-warming.
You have been warned… ;o)
Hi John, the picture was from Sandbanks beach from last weekend. And not going to first game so won’t be experiencing the delights of Fleetwood or Blackpool anytime soon 😏
The 4-1 defeat at Havant may well demonstrate that despite virtually having an entirely new squad we still haven’t learned to wake up for the start of a match… something that cost us so dearly last season.
I’ve no doubt the manner of such a heavy defeat will also have been noted by our League one opponents….
Hmmmmm….
