Appiah ‘rolled his ankle’ on Tuesday, which should be minor, but with Kwesi’s history expect the ‘going for a scan’ comment soon followed by ‘ankle ligaments – 3 months’ shortly after!!
For me there is no comparison with the squad of last season. The group are playing for each other, they are energetic and they are exciting to watch. They are…[Read more]

Absolutely gutted about that result! We dominated for large parts of the game and deserved a draw as a minimum. Sadly we are missing too many chances at the moment and need to become more clinical if we are to win matches like this. Having said that there was a clear penalty not given by the ref, who was probably busy trying to get the…[Read more]

Agree with your thoughts, Liam. I’d write off Tuesday’s result due to the freak nature of the goals conceded. I am convinced that if we had equalised during the half hour period of intense pressure then we would have gone on to win the match – sometimes it is just football and you have to accept it.
As for today, Sunderland are starting to…[Read more]

Finally getting along to my first competitive game of the season on Tuesday. Hope to see Pete, Liam and even Dave if you are around – keep an eye out for me.
Great to see the team really pulling together at the moment. Although it looked from the highlights that Barnsley were pretty wasteful in front of goal, it is also difficult to see how…[Read more]

Just watched Saturday’s match back in full and was amazed to see Liam Trotter even better than he was at Fleetwood! Lord only knows what has happened to him in the close season, but long may it continue! Incredibly he seemed to play in the Jake Reeves playmaker role and he took to it like a duck to water. I still have concerns over Tom Soares,…[Read more]

Many thanks, Liam. :o)
Really sad to hear the news about Meadsey retiring. Always gave 100% and always spoke eloquently about the game and himself, all too rare in modern times.
Thanks Meadsey, and don’t be a stranger at KM and NPL…

Sadly Pete, I have selected Mitch as my Star Player in the Ivors, so he is doomed to a season of injury, ill-discipline and occasional bench-warming.
You have been warned… ;o)

Liam,
I just noticed the picture attachment to your last post. Is that you at the Fleetwood home game last season? ;o)

I saw Thomas at Woking a couple of seasons ago and was impressed even then – hopefully one for the (near) future.
Singapore – I will be there Saturday if you fancy a pre-match discussion of prospects!

Hopefully not betraying a confidence before Rob has been informed, but they have bought an apartment at NPL!
It was only £10 to get in Pete, and the match was worth it. King looked solid, vocal and more Long than Clarke so far. Pinnock was also impressive, with a good cross and useful long throw. The Pig has been in the gym and Kwes looked…[Read more]

Just a quick post to pass on my congratulations to Liam Nolan and Dave Kenwery – that’s going to be some housewarming party!!
Looking forward to seeing you both at more games in the future.

Thanks for the news, Rob, at least something seems to be in the pipeline.
I’m pretty disappointed in the Darius news, though. Unless the club have determined that he has a long term degenerative injury that is likely to recur, then a fit Darius is undoubtedly worth keeping. With a 20% increase in overall budget then offering one of our best…[Read more]

Message for Liam Nolan – Is that a picture of you on the OS “Wombles all over the world” feature in the Grand Canyon?
If so, I didn’t realise that you could pilot a helicopter with one hand while swigging booze out of a plastic cup in the other! ;o)
On second thoughts that fine figure of a man may be too young and slim to be our Liam…

Good to have you back Rumours, and just in time to start some summer speculation!
I gave my thoughts on who should be released in the latest Newsletter.
In terms of signings, I’d hope that we could make efforts to tempt a decent League 2 striker – we certainly need a proven goalscorer. There would be strong competition, but I’d like us to go in…[Read more]

Ken – I’m also confident that the new stadium is going to look empty next season, but with any luck may have a few in it the season after! ;o)
Today’s match is off, which is probably a blessing after playing 90 minutes on a quagmire on Friday. May 1st being touted as a rearrangement date and hopefully Doncaster will be on their summer holidays…[Read more]

I was at the game yesterday and can provide some insight.
The mood among the fans is darker than the slate grey skies which enveloped KM for most of the day yesterday. Constant heavy rain from mid-morning added to the already sodden ground to produce a quagmire – the attached picture of the car park post-match gives an idea!
The pitch was fit…[Read more]

Definite squeaky bum time, Liam, and I am expecting a difficult game on Friday with Fleetwood climbing away from danger and with a very good away record.
If we are to claim the three points then we will need a full house behind the boys and a sprinkling of luck. My opinion is that we will get a very nervy draw.
Personally, I feel that we may…[Read more]

In my opinion yesterday was a ‘must win’ game. At home, against managerless opposition who were on a poor run of form, three points was a must with two tough away fixtures ahead.
We duly achieved this, but for me this was almost the only positive to come out of the afternoon.
I was hoping for the team to be quick out of the blocks, but we were…[Read more]

After yesterday’s results I can’t believe we are still 3/1 against being relegated. I feel that Oldham will have enough ‘know how’ to survive and Northampton have a decent manager and a big budget-ful of new signings. Fleetwood have also changed manager and have a decent squad, so to me we would be favourites to join the ‘dead men walking’ of…[Read more]

Fair to say that today’s match is vital to us. I don’t subscribe to the ‘must win’ view, but I feel it is important to avoid defeat and to play well. Another defeat and confidence could be shot. Another defeat in the manner of Bury or Northampton and we are doomed. We need to tighten up the defence and do what we were doing in January. A run…[Read more]
