Just back from Doncaster and absolutely ecstatic to have got that crucial point. Pretty poor game but for once who cares? It was mission accomplished and the celebrations at the end were a joy to be part of. Who cares if the achievement you are celebrating is only staying up? It felt like we’d won the league. It was a decent battling performance.…[Read more]

I think the Rotherham game was the turning point. We went into it in good form but virtually everybody at the club expected us to lose! That cannot be good for confidence…….. And so we lose to Bury and Northampton and probably Plymouth. You can’t beat a positive mindset and now we seem to have lost it. Survival is still in our hands.

Shocking performance at Bury. From the players and the manager. The players will disappointed with how they performed but the set up was wrong. 3 at the back with Meades right midfield??? That soon became a flat back 4 with Deji at right back- looking out of position. Then off goes Robbo after a yellow card and on comes Francomb and finally the…[Read more]

Well that was not what I was expecting! A really impressive away performance creating a hatful of chances and missing all but 3 of them! But to score 3 cracking goals was sensational. I was really impressed. It was the best performance I have seen for a while – especially in the final third. Not necessarily in terms of finishing- 2 open goals…[Read more]

The game at Oxford can be summed up by 2 things. Darius Charles playing striker and Neal Ardley sitting glumly on the bench. A centre half at centre forward sums up our woes and is not the answer. Sadly he was no better than Macdonald who was equally ineffective. At Blackburn Ardley’s management helped win the game. Yesterday his lack of…[Read more]

Blackburn was the first game I have seen this season. Here are my thoughts. George Long seemed to fit the bill. Baz seems constantly in danger of conceding free kicks or penalties. You admire his commitment but I think he is getting towards the end. The centre backs both looked solid with Oshilaji catching the eye. Francomb and Barcham were a…[Read more]

Not impressed with the transfer activity so far. Last season was tough but next seems to be getting harder. The loss of our midfield pairing of Reeves and Bulman is a disaster. We must replace Reeves with a similar player. I don’t see anyone currently at the club doing his role and that role is crucial to the team. He’s been our most influential…[Read more]

I don’t think the Dons thought they would win and that has got to affect the way you play. Certainly after the Shea fiasco the result was never in doubt. It worries me how little the team offered going forward. Nothing would be about right. Elliot did nothing apart from to try and hold the ball up. Taylor given a more forward role in the second…[Read more]

I’ve now seen Wimbledon 4 times in the last few weeks – Oxford, Bury twice and Oldham – and not seen them lose yet! Obviously the Oxford game was a rare event when you score 3 goals before half time away from home. Both Bury performances were solid and to fight back from 2 down was really impressive. The Oldham game was 2 points lost.

Shrewsbury at home – a game we should win if we are going to have a good season but a game we often lose. I reckon it will be one of those days today. A home defeat to one of the lesser teams in the division. I just hope I’m wrong. COYD

I’ve been away for most of the season so far and have viewed it from afar. Things seemed dire and it seemed like we might be out of our depths. I wasn’t surprised having seen the Dons a few times last year they did not seem like a team who should be playing in League 1. However they are and now have a win and there is hope.

Wednesday night was one of those amazing nights. I’ve always felt that the team that just misses automatic promotion deserves to win the play offs but on this occasion. It seems only fair!
