Great to have 8 points from 5 games. I’m usually out during match time so don’t use ifollow (though I will for the Doncaster match when “our Home” will be on display but look up the stats. afterwards. What concerns me is that we are consistently behind in possession (30-40%, attempted shots, and shots on goal. That said I’m hoping for a less worrying season – and that the “unmentionables” maintain their position at the foot of the table.

NA’s job was to keep us in League 1. Recent improvements in performance and a GREAT win against promotion chasing Charlton lead me to believe that we’ll do it. Four points above the relegation line with five games to go takes a bit of the pressure off. A win against Walsall or Oldham should do it: though I hope NA has already started looking for some really good forwards for next season. COYD! –

The Fleetwood game was “The Game we HAD to Win”. Had we done so we’d have been level on points with them and in 18th spot. More importantly we’d only require 5 points for virtual safety.
We now require 8. Looking at our remaining six fixtures It’s hard to see where three wins or two wins with two draws will come from: Home matches with lower ranked teams have never been our forte so Bury (23rd) and Oldham (21st) will be no easier than away games at Wallsall (18th) or Doncaster (13th). I’m afraid that the new stadium is going to look quite empty with League 2 crowds next season.

What a result!!!! I thought a draw would be a great – and we’re above the unmentionables. It more than makes up for Perth Glory going in 3-0 at the break and only getting a draw. Maybe the optimism shown by NA at the beginning of the season was justified after all.

Obviously the move back to Plough Lane is a great one and necessary to improve our financial position and at least maintain our League 1 status, but I will miss parking at the ground, the close proximity to the pitch and other supporters standing around me. AFCW probably had the highest win ratio on Kingsmeadow than any other league team in the country.

Great result. What we need to do is get consistency for the remaining fixtures. Pompey play Plymouth next week. If the Pilgrims can win against them and we could as well, there would only be a point between us.
